Day 1:

Help them calm down.

As it's often the most pressing questions from parents, we'll start with that.

Let's explore techniques to help them regulate themselves in the hard moments, but most importantly, help prevent and reduce outbursts.

Goal of the day:

They also want to feel calm, let's find ways that works for THEM!

TO DO TODAY

Speaker Bio

I am an experienced personal trainer, yoga instructor, CEO & business owner, but most importantly, a mother. Becoming a mother was a dream come true and a nightmare realized all at the same time. I struggled with postpartum depression, extreme mom guilt and anxiety dictating my decision making. Having struggled on my own for so long, I was determined to change the narrative on motherhood. I take pride in helping my clients transform their lives.

As a coach, I spend time understanding the root cause of the issue, set milestones throughout the process, and celebrate when goals and dream scenarios are achieved.  I've been recognized by moms of all ages, and stages of motherhood around the world, for my extraordinary commitment to empower them to feel their best, so they can give their best, to their families each day. Bottom line, I help moms have MORE GREAT DAYS!

I’m Angie: twin mom, wife, coffee addict, podcast host, and parent coach.

My mission is to help break generational parenting cycles so we can raise some really amazing humans.

I wasn’t always sure of everything that I wanted in life, but the one thing I did know was that “mom” was a title I knew I needed to have one day. So after welcoming my twins in 2014, I thought I checked all the boxes in life.

But as we all know, parenting doesn’t come with a handbook, so I spent the first few years of their lives learning the hard way. I was stressed, I was cranky, my work-life balance was out of wack, and I had constant mom guilt following me around like a dark cloud.

Then one day, it clicked and I knew I needed to make a change. So I quit my job to focus on my kids and go full-time with my passion of educating people about holistic options to be more proactive with their health.

I was finally finding my happiness again and when mama’s happy, our kiddos are happy.

But then, life got thrown at me and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I went through some personal trauma and started an intense healing journey. Throughout this time, I completed an intense program to better understand and take control of my mental and emotional health.

When I saw emotions rising in my kids, I started applying the same teachings on them. I wanted them to better understand how to manage their emotional health, especially with everything going on in our world. I saw amazing results all around and I couldn’t help but share this knowledge with others.

I strongly believe if we start changing the conversation in our own homes around our health (physically, emotionally, and mentally), we can change future generations.

That was the start of The Parent Toolbox and now I am here to help you feel more confident in your parenting by building a toolbox that works for your family.

Jungle Adventure hypnosis audio track (designed for children age 5 - 11)

A fun and playful journey around the jungle and then back home, this audio hypnosis track promotes a connectedness with deep peacefulness through nudging your child gently into a hypnotic state. It also suggests and explores beneficial ways of exploring and working with strong emotion.

Your child can listen to this as they go to sleep, and that would work well for them (so long as they feel comfortable / relaxed with it on etc). It also works great though to listen to this while drawing / colouring / crafting / cooking / playing / lego / homework / doing any kind of task etc.

Even if they do not seem to be paying the hypnosis track much attention, it will still be going in at an unconscious level, and that means that it will be helping to soothe their nervous system, whilst gently providing them with access to helpful ideas about navigating strong, powerful or challenging emotion.

Collaborative Communication 101

Communication can be HARD and sometimes overwhelming especially for emotionally intense children in the public school system. This guide is designed to help get the conversation going and create change for your child.

Presentation

Is it Bad Behavior?

Understanding and Advocating for Children in the Public School System

Latina Nickelson

(she/her/ella)

In this presentation, Latina emphasizes the need to view behaviors as communication forms rather than mislabel them as 'bad' or even emotionally intense.

The presentation focuses on empowering parents to become effective advocates, recognizing the unique challenges faced by children, and fostering collaborative relationships.

Speaker Bio

I am a parent coach, trained and certified by the Jai Institute of Parenting. I offer practical tools and a weekly reflection session called The Pause. This helps parents to step back and focus on what really matters, outside of the day-to-day pressures - a sanctuary where you can come up for air. It gives you the support that you need in order to show up as the parent your child needs.

My approach to parenting is rooted in nervous system science and focuses on regulation rather than compliance. I advocate using connection rather than punishments or rewards to help children manage their emotions, develop resilience and grow up feeling good on the inside.

My core values are compassion, curiosity, connection and courage. Perfect parenting is not the goal. What is? Feeling seen, safe and supported so that you can have an authentic relationship with your child grounded in trust, connection and collaboration.

I help women quickly and easily remedy the source of their fatigue before it leads to burnout, depression, or anxiety. As a mental health therapist for 19 years, I saw many people struggle with setting healthy boundaries and naming their emotions. This inspired me to take action and help others avoid the overwhelming effects of stress. Unfortunately, the mental health system is reactive rather than preventative, leaving many without the tools they need to manage their mental well-being.

I wanted to offer preventative care to women who were fatigued and running their homes and departments. But as a licensed therapist, I could only provide services for diagnosable mental health issues. Realizing the need for a new mental wellness system, I took action.

I created a prevention plan for professional women struggling with fatigue and was determined to make it a reality. Despite setbacks due to the pandemic and personal responsibilities, my passion to support women with preventative mental wellness tools remained strong.

Today, I run a thriving Mental Wellness Coaching practice that helps professional women ditch the soul-crushing fatigue and take back their sweet, sweet ENERGY so that they can love the life they've built.
