February 25-27 2025

A free 3 day online event for parents of emotionally intense 5-12 year olds

Learn how to navigate conflict with your emotionally intense kids without losing control - so you can connect with your child and foster a peaceful family dynamic

Presented by the "Parenting the Intensity Community" a monthly group program by Family Moments

Watch the video below to learn how this free event will help you move to a less conflicted and more connected family.

Keeping your cool during the meltdowns isn't as simple as "being more consistent", "being more strict" or "naming their emotions"

(I'm sure you've heard all of them countless of times)

You feel like you've tried it all

  • Taking deep breaths and working hard on not yelling (that doesn't means it's working all the time but you're trying)
  • Focusing on understanding your child's behavior and testing all the things to find the right approach (but you still haven't)
  • Reading all that you can find to uncover THE solution to the conflicts in your house (but you're still butting heads...)

It feels like whatever your try, conflict is escalating and you're more divided than connected with your emotionally intense child

Maybe right now...

  • You're child is often spiralling out of control for no apparent reason.
  • You're trying hard to stay calm but end up losing it much more often than you want.
  • Both of which creates power struggles, yelling and more conflicts.
  • You feel like you're failing in parenting your intense child, letting them down and having more bad days then good.
  • You feel overwhelmed and discouraged and are afraid things are just going to get worst (the teen years are not even here yet 😟)

And you're not sure how much more of it you can take

Most parenting advice focuses on your child's behavior and not your relationship with your child. Which is why it hasn't been working.

During the retreat we take an approach that help's you put the connection with your child back where it should be: THE priority.

So you'll finally be able to ...

Help your child manage their intense emotions by supporting THEIR needs

Stay in control when your child is not by supporting YOUR needs

Father comforting his young chid in watercolor

So that you can lower conflict and buid a strong bond with your child

That's exactly what you'll experience at the

Parenting the Intensity Retreat!

During the Parenting the Intensity Retreat  you'll get valuable insight into how to stay connected with your child despite the intense reactions and (often) puzzling behavior.

Join us for the Parenting the Intensity Retreat to learn how to lower conflict and increase connection from supporters of emotionally intense kids and their families.

Meet your host

Hi I'm Anouk Brière-Godbout,

I'm a mom of 3 (wonderful and) emotionally intense kids, I have a master's in social work and I’ve been supporting parents of kids with all kinds of special needs for more then 16 years (and that's also how long I've been a mom!).

Like you, I live daily with the reality of raising kids who are "more" and who don't "fit". I know how overwhelming it can be and how lonely and powerless it can feel. But I also know it's possible to have a wonderful family relationship and that they have an incredible potential we are the best to see and support.

My focus is on helping you support yours and your chid's needs so you can build confidence in your parenting to reduce conflicts and deepen family connections.

Join me and 28 wonderful speakers in this one-of-a-kind event.

I can't wait to see you there!

What to expect at the
Parenting the Intensity Retreat

- Conflict Edition -

When & Where

The Parenting the Intensity Retreat will run from February 25th to 27th 2025, with a variety of presentations to choose from each day.

A 2 days replay (Feb 28th-March 1st) for those who have a hectic schedule (who am I kidding, that's all of us!).

This event is entirely virtual and prerecorded, so you’ll be able to attend from anywhere in the world (with internet access) on your own time.

Speaker Sessions

Attend short and actionable presentations from our lineup of 30 speakers with trainings on:

  • Managing kids big emotions
  • Being a calm and patient parent is possible
  • Lower conflict to deepen family connection

Your free ticket includes 24-hour access to each presentation during the week of the event (plus a 2 day  access to them all again at the end)

Private Podcast

To make the event as accessible as possible, you'll get access to a private podcast feed of the presentations.

Just like for the videos, they will each be available for 24h and have a 2 days replay.

BONUS: Short Daily Self Care Moments

Because it's a retreat and not any online conference, on top of the presentations, you'll also get opportunities to practice some regulation activities daily (breath work, meditation, journal prompts, etc. ) in as little as 1-3 minutes each time, so you can start taking action towards you're calm self even with no time. There will be an option to get reminders so you don't forget.

Private Retreat Community

You’ll also have access to our private Facebook community of parents of emotionally intense kids like you who are also working on building better family relationships! This is where you’ll be able to connect with the speakers and other attendees before, during and after the event!

Live roundtables

The feeling of loneliness is real, so in addition to the Facebook community, you'll get opportunities to connect live with other parents and speakers once each day (at different times of day so it fits every time zone and family schedules). Join us to connect and ask questions to the speakers present and chat with the other parents.

Replays will be available if you can't be there live.

Chances to Win

You’ll also have a chance to win prizes by showing up and participating throughout the summit. Be sure to keep an eye out for your BINGO card and come hang out with us in the Facebook community for chances to win spots in the Parenting the Intensity Community monthly group support and other participation prizes

Upgrade for an in-depth experience!

After registering, you’ll also have the chance to upgrade to the DEEP CONNECTION PASS which includes ongoing access to the presentations after the retreat wraps up, bonuses from our speakers to go even further in deepening family connection, and more! You’ll get all the details (and a special offer) after grabbing your free ticket!

"Parenting the Intensity Community" Opportunity

I'm dedicated in supporting you during the retreat and beyond, as parenting emotionally intense kids is far from a one and done thing (sorry if I'm breaking it out to you today).

To help, you’ll hear about my "Parenting the Intensity" group support here and there throughout the event. On the final day of the retreat, 3 lucky (and engaged) attendees will be selected to win 1 entire year in the Community (worth $220 each!).

The winners will gain access to resources, support (group and individual) and a private group!

Stay tuned for details and your chance to apply!

Day 1: Managing Kids Big Emotions

As it's often the most pressing questions from parents, we'll start with helping you to manage your kids big emotions. We'll help you understand what's happening in your child when they meltdown, explore techniques to help them regulate themselves in the hard moments, and learn to deal with their intensity in a positive way. They also want to feel calm and connected, these presentations will help you help them do just that!

So today's all about finding what is triggering you the most so you can get a calm control back.

Navigating cultural expectations whilst accommodating the emotional needs of your child
As you can see from these amazing value-packed presentations, this is an event you do not want to miss.

You don't need people telling you to give more consequences, get at their level or tell them "no" more often.

Your kids are not acting that way because they are spoiled brats.

Or because you are an horrible parent.

They are acting that way because they are struggling! Which makes you, amazing parent, struggle too.

And here, at the Parenting the Intensity Retreat
EVERYONE GETS IT!

Nobody will judge you or give you "parenting advice" you've heard again and again that just isn't working.

(and often just makes things worse)

Anouk was a very understanding guide. She created a safe space to share our thoughts, feelings and questions. Her presence was very calming. Everyone was allowed to participate in their own way/pace.

No guilt, no pressure. The exact opposite of what a normal parenting day looks like.

Thank you for this, Anouk.

Y. N.

We know you're kids are wonderful, you're a dedicated parent and you do have some great family moments,

so let's find together ways for those bonding moments to become your family culture!

You can do it! You're already doing so much well

And we are here to support you to do even more

Thoughts from last year's retreat participants

I really enjoyed the event and received such good tips I will apply with my parenting.

B. K.

I loved the wide array of topics that were covered to help better support intense children on a variety of levels.

I also loved having access to the audio recordings which is how I initially listened to the talks on the go! Super user friendly.

N. D.

I wrote some times to Anouk. And she answered so fast and generous. I am impressed. Very impressed.

FAQ

How do I know if this retreat is right for me?

If you think you have emotionally intense kids...then you most probably do and this event is for you!

We’ll be specifically talking to parents of emotionally intense kids and focusing on finding what's going on and ways for everyone to be calmer so you can enjoy life a bit more in a less stressful way, and anyone other then parents who are interested to understand emotionally intense kids is welcome to join us too.

If you're kids are 5 to 12 years old there will be stuff for you!

When is this event happening?

The main portion of the retreat runs from February 25-27 with a welcome session happening on the 24th. You’ll also be able to join our private Facebook community as soon as the week before, so you can join in on the fun right away!

There will also be a replay Friday and Saturday (February 28-29th) because I know that you already have your hands full with your kids!

What if I’m not able to attend live?

While most of the presentations for the retreat are pre-recorded, there are some live elements, and the pre-recorded presentations are only available for 24 hours with your free ticket (plus 2 days replay). So we encourage you to attend live if you can! We would love for you to set aside some time during the retreat week to attend the live sessions, watch the pre-recorded presentations, come in the Facebook group to ask questions to the speakers and participate with others who are focusing on understanding their kids better and finding solution for everyday struggles.

However, if you’re not able to attend all of the sessions you want in time, go ahead and grab your free ticket, and you’ll have the opportunity to upgrade to the DEEP CONNECTION PASS for extended access (plus so many other things included).

We also suggest you to choose the presentations that are relevant for you and not try to listen to them all!

How long will I have access to the presentations?

Your free ticket includes 24 hour access to each of the presentations plus the 2 days replay where you'll be able to listen to them all again.

The presentations are between 10 and 25 minutes each to make that more realistic.

If you need more time, you can always upgrade your ticket to the DEEP CONNECTION PASS after registering, which will give you ongoing access to the presentations along with premium bonuses from our speakers and more!

Are the presentations live?

To avoid tech glitches, give you the best possible experience, and keep things easy for the speakers, the presentations are pre-recorded and will be released at 9AM EST each day of the retreat

However, the speakers will be hanging out in our private Facebook group with dedicated threads where you can connect with them and ask your questions! There will also be opportunities to join us for bonus live events throughout the week.

Will all the speakers get my email address?

No. When you register, you’ll be added to the Family Moments email list so we can send you updates for the event and links to each day’s presentations. After the retreat is over, you’ll continue to hear from us, but you can unsubscribe at any time.

Each of the speakers will have free resources available that you can access by providing an email address, but the speakers will not get your email address unless you choose to give it to them specifically. That way, you only hear from the people you really love and don't have to worry about getting added to tones of email lists that you're not interested in.

You can learn more in our Privacy Policy.

Are your videos captioned or transcribed?

Of course! All presentations have closed captioning, and notes and a podcast feed are also available for each presentation.

Please reach out to [email protected] if there’s any other accommodations you need to ensure you’re able to enjoy this event. We will do our best to provide you with any that you need.

I still have questions!

If you still have questions, we encourage you to go ahead and sign up (it's free). Your questions will likely be answered during the event or in the Facebook community, which you’ll be able to join right away after grabbing your free ticket.

However, if you need to ask us a question before registering, feel free to send us an email at [email protected].

You won't want to miss the Parenting the Intensity Retreat, grab your free ticket and join us
